Comoros

The Comoros Islands, with their multitude of white sand beaches, interesting mix of Swahili and devout Muslim culture and largest active volcano worldwide on Grande Comore, is so much more than your standard Indian Ocean paradise. The Comores offers the traveller a wild mix of sun, surf, rainforest hikes and trekking on Mount Karthala. On Grande Comore you can wander the Arab quarter in Moroni or be intoxicated by the ylang ylang and clove scented beaches on Anjouan while on Mayotte you can swim with turtles just off the coast at Sazilé. Whatever you do, just do it the way of the Comoros, slowly slowly.
