Eritrea

Sadly Eritrea is not on many travellers’ maps. Those who are lucky enough to find themselves in this hidden land have embarked on a journey of discovery into colourful cultures, archaeological sites in southern Eritrea and ancient ruins in Qohalto, colonial remnants and unspoilt reefs of the Dahlak Islands in the Red Sea. The capital city, Asmara, is a delight of art deco architecture and Italian coffee culture while the wasteland of Dankalia is mesmerizing. You can choose to hike to the Monastery of Debre Libanos or relax in Massawa, but one thing you will find is that Eritrea is definitely worth discovering.
