Antananarivo

Antananarivo, previously known as Tananarive, is the capital city of the island nation of Madagascar. There are many different attractions for tourists. Tsimbazaza Zoo shows many of the unique animals that live in Madagascar. Ambohimanga is a historical site outside of Antananarivo, visitors to Ambohimanga can view a palace and other buildings. Queens Palace is one of the better-known attractions in Antananarivo, the large and historic building is currently being restored. Antananarivo is located in the middle of the island, making it an ideal starting point for tours going to the coastal areas.
