Lagos

Lagos is one of the largest cities in Africa. Its coastline is on the Bight of Benin, part of the Atlantic Ocean. A popular part of the city area with tourists is Victoria Island which is where many of the modern hotels, restaurants and shopping centres are located. Lagos is famous for its sports, especially the national team that plays soccer, and important games are played at the Abuja Stadium and Lagos National Stadium. Basketball player Hakeem Olajuwon was born in Lagos, and various basketball tournaments are hosted by the city. Lagos is the location of the Nigerian National Museum, with its many exhibits on Nigerian life, archaeology and art.
