Dakar

Located in the west part of Africa, and on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, Dakar is a famous city with a busy port and a long history. The IFAN Museum of African Arts contains many exhibits about African culture. Dakar is also where one of the largest statues in the world is located. The African Renaissance Monument is nearly 50 metres tall. Made of bronze, the African Renaissance Monument shows two adults and a child, and the statue is on top of a hill. Taking four years to build, the African Renaissance Monument has brought a lot of publicity to Dakar and all of Senegal.
