Many tourists visit Tai’an, in China’s Shandong province, to explore Mount Tai. It is considered to be at the top of the list of China’s Five Sacred Mountains. At the summit of Mount Tai is the Azure Clouds Temple, and there are other temples, stone tablets and historic buildings in the area. At the base of Mount Tai is the Taishan Temple that was first built more than two thousand years ago. In Tai’an, visitors can eat at one of the many restaurants or watch a show by the Tai’an City Acrobatics Troupe. When planning a trip, tourists often depart Beijing or Shanghai to travel to Tai’an and Mount Tai.
