Raja Ampat

The Raja Ampat islands are famed for their remarkable diving and untouched beauty. Many people opt to stay on a live-aboard boat due to the ease that comes with living on the boat and then being able to travel further distances in the morning to the dive sites. They are generally a cheaper way to experience the islands but if you would prefer to stay on dry-land there are a number of stunning eco-resorts that dot the islands. Most are of a very high standard, with private cottages and excellent restaurants and must be arranged prior to arrival. The diving options are almost infinite with the surrounding reefs being considered amongst the liveliest in the world and there is never a shortage of things to see and do.

The islands themselves are glorious, natural wonders where it is possible to observe many different birds of paradise, explore caves and find waterfalls hidden behind the glorious beaches. There has been civilisation on these islands for thousands of years and you may even be able to discover some cave paintings. There are also a number of new hotels and resorts in development so it is best to get here soon before the secret is out.
