Manila

A visit to the Philippines often has Manila as the first stop on the itinerary. In Manila, the capital city and home to a population of over sixteen million people, visitors can see historic buildings that reflect the international influences on the Philippines over the centuries as well as newer landmarks. Manila Ocean Park is a great example of modern Manila. This massive aquarium complex has more than ten thousand forms of sea life to view, along with rides and activities to get a closer look at the fish. The park also is said to have the “largest underwater viewing tunnel” of any marine park in Asia. A trip to the Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden presents more than five hundred animals to view, including tigers and crocodiles.
