This tiny pearl of an island is becoming more and more popular with divers and beach lovers alike, as the relatively untouched nature and simple lifestyle seem to suit everyone that comes here. There are a number of resorts on Koh Ngai, which is just as well given the lack of roads or facilities otherwise, but if you fancy a less swish option then there is a campsite located on the main beach.
Although popular with windsurfers, divers and snorkelers for the remarkable water conditions and marine life that is easily visible, the island also has lovely beaches and some virgin forest to trek through, where it is easy to spot some of the amazing creatures that inhabit it including a few species of monkey. If you are able to stay in one of the many resorts then you will be in for a treat as they are beautifully designed and offer a romantic, rustic experience that is hard to find in the south Thai islands nowadays. Many of the resorts also offer spa deals which allow you to relax on the beach and be pampered all day long with a cocktail in hand. Perfect.
