Clipperton Island

Clipperton Island is in fact a ring shaped atoll southwest of Mexico. It may be isolated and uninhabited but the spectacular inner lagoon, coconut palm tree groves and 29 metre high volcanic Clipperton Rock will have you believe you have stumbled across the original paradise. It’s little wonder the other name for this otherworldly spot is Île de la Passion. Armed with a permit from the French authorities, you can follow the footsteps of the pirate after whom the island was named, John Clipperton, and set out to explore the treasures of the island. This is an opportunity to swim, fish, snorkel and dive with dolphins or simply admire the view.
