“Malo”, greetings from Wallis and Futuna. A French overseas territory and one of three remaining South Pacific French colonies. It is home to Polynesian inhabitants and hot humid weather. Wallis is fairly flat with a few volcanic hillsides. Futuna, on the other hand, is very mountainous and contains fresh water springs. It also has the remains of a fortified Tongan settlement in which you can visit. These islands lie between Samoa and Fiji with reserved people and a culture highly intact. Tourists can camp out in a communal house stroll along the deserted beach of Alofi. These islands could be your quiet enchanting home away from home.
