Located inland in central Cuba, Camaguey is the third largest city of the island nation of Cuba. The winding streets of the historic old center are extremely unique and a UNESCO world heritage site. With a population of around 325,000 people, the city is quite large by Caribbean standards. The city remains much the way it was for hundreds of years in many places making it a charming destinations for tourists visiting Cuba who are looking for more than just a sandy beach. The city also serves as a common transportation hub to the nearby beach cities such as the popular destination of Santa Lucia.
