Located on the south of the eastern coast of Cuba, Santiago de Cuba is home to nearly 500,000 inhabitants, making it one of the larger cities in all of the Caribbean. Santiago plays the role of Cuba’s second city rather well and has many must see attractions and important historical sites. Of particular note is the culture here which started the massively popular Salsa dancing trend. To this day one can wander through the city clubs and bars and hear the Latin rhythms pounding loud while locals and tourists alike try their luck on the dance floor.
