Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo is the capital city of the Dominican Republic and the largest city in the Caribbean. Located near the southern coast of the country on the Ozama river, the city is an important port for the country. The city has many historically significant sites and a distinctly Dominican vibe that makes it a huge draw for tourism. Many travelers will arrive in Santo Domingo on their way to explore other sites throughout the country, landing at one of the cities two international airports. The modern Caribbean city is one of the financial a business leaders in the region and a city that survives on more than just tourism, unlike many others in the Caribbean.
