Bequia

Although the largest of the Grenadine islands, Bequia is still tiny and is easily to walk in a few hours where you can explore the lush vegetation and the undisturbed beaches to your hearts content. The island is famous for its remarkable friendliness and peaceful atmosphere, there is little to do here and the locals wouldn’t change that for anything. Most visitors will arrive in Port Elizabeth and stay in Admiralty Bay, this is where the majority of hotels and apartment rentals are located but if you are looking for a little bit more privacy then there are many villa rentals in the beautiful Spring Bay area.

Bequia is the mooring for the beautiful SS Friendship Rose, an antique cruise schooner available for day trips and wonderful picnics, which allow you to sail around the local island to find that perfect view. There are many reasons to come here but one of the most popular is for the wreck diving. There are over 30 in the surrounding waters which are hugely popular for both the fascinating history and the marine life that you can observe. The island fills up during the Easter regatta so it is best to book well in advance if you wish to visit during this time.
