Saint John

The smallest of the US Virgin Islands and reputedly one of the most beautiful, St. John is a haven for travellers the world over with remarkable beaches, famous hospitality and wonderful culture. One of the best things about St. John is the fact that there is so much on offer regardless of your budget, you can rent a cheap villa on the beach or a millionaires mansion, stay in a luxury resort or bunk up at a cheap B&B. Cruz Bay is where the majority of tourists stay due to its wonderful location and ease of access to the famous Trunk Bay beach, one of the most cherished beaches in the world.

The island is part of the Virgin Islands National Park and has 20km of trekking territory to have fun with, it really does help you to appreciate one of the most beautiful islands in the region. St John has a relatively sedate nightlife scene but if you do fancy a dance then there are numerous bars in Cruz Bay which have nightly bands playing to entertain the crowds. If you fancy a trip further afield then it is worth heading to the Annaberg ruins, a collapsed 18th Century sugar plantation.
