Utila

Utila is one of the most famous diving destinations in the Caribbean, if not the world. With more people being PADI certified here than anywhere else in the region, it is not surprising to find out that there is a great deal to see here. Whatever water sport takes your fancy you will find something to entertain you here, with fantastic sea-kayaking, snorkelling and fishing. For those who are here to party, Utila will not disappoint. Renowned for the SunJam Festival, Utila has a vibrant year-round party scene that is practically unmatched anywhere in Central America, although especially in August when world famous DJ’s are flown in to perform at the festival.

Accommodation is plentiful on Utila and suitable for all budgets but the island is predominantly a haven for people looking to party and dive cheaply, so it is best not to come here expecting a five-star pampering experience. As you can imagine for a party island, there is a great deal of entertainment on offer. Numerous bars and restaurants line the streets offering something for everyone and at various price ranges. Try the local seafood its famous in the region for being the most flavoursome and best.
