Isla Colon

Isla Colon is one of the most beautiful party islands in the world, a haven of resorts and beach bashes where lounging on yachts is a common activity. Located in the beautiful Bocas Del Toro archipelago, Isla Colon is the capital of the region and a fascinating place to spend a week or two. There are a number of wonderful sights in the surrounding countryside, the most interesting being the Bat Cave (La Gruta) which can be reached only by car but is a beautiful grove well worth the effort.

Your days will be spent relaxing on beautiful beaches, sipping cocktails and eating amazing seafood but it is in the night that Bocas Del Toro really comes into its own, numerous bars and clubs line the streets and port sidings, all promising a wonderfully Caribbean time. For the more adventurous, it is possible to rent a yacht and take part in a wonderful diving experience, although shallow and probably ideally suited to beginners, this is a wonderful place to undertake PADI certification. The waters are also good for those who enjoy surfing as they break big with Bluff Beach and The Dump being the most popular.
