Andorra is a haven for hikers and ski enthusiasts. This tiny country nestled in the Pyranees between France and Spain is renowned for its ski resorts and shopping. There are two main ski areas to choose from, Vallnord and Grandvalira. In these areas one ski pass will give you access to all areas within the region. In the summer months the Pyrenees open up as a hiker’s paradise. You can follow the hiking trails either from Arinsal up the Como de Pedrosa or tackle the Pic de Médécourbe. Andorra is one of the last remaining real tax havens, as it has no income tax; it relies on tourism for income. However, Andorra has no airport so the tourists have to come by train.

Andorra is a Principality and it is has no military, which means Spain and France have to defend the state.

There is no official religion here, but 90% of the residents are Roman Catholic.

If you want to live a long life, Andorra can be your new home it has the second highest life expectancy rate in the world, only coming second to Japan, with 82 years.
