Thousands of islands dotted along the coast of Croatia, on many of which you can soak yourself very comfortably in the sun but if you are looking for the highlight island then Hvar is it. Glorious beaches, wonderful food and the opportunity to mingle with the rich and famous make this a prime choice. It may be a little costly in the main town but cheaper accommodation can be found in the villages surrounding. Located not far from the mainland of Croatia and easy to see in two days this island is one that you can give yourself over to and enjoy your hedonistic tendencies.
The Dalmatian coast has become a playground for the rich and extravagant so there is a wonderfully active nightlife scene as well as a great range of international food choices so you should not become bored here. The town square is one of the most beautiful in the country and is a wonderful place to explore with nearby Stari Grad offering fine cafes and restaurants. The 15th Century fortress which overlooks the town is impossible to miss and is well worth a visit as the views from the walls are remarkable.
