It may be part of Europe, it is a Mediterranean island and it’s closest neighbours are actually Asia and Africa, yet Cyprus remains totally unique. Overrun by developers in parts, steeped in history in others, you’ll soon find Cyprus is many, many things. Party animals gather in popular Agia Napa whilst nature lovers set out for the Troödos Massif and Kyrenia. History buffs are spoilt for choice with Buffavento and Kantara Castles, and the archaeological sites of Ancient Salamis and Ancient Kourion. For the fun of it don’t miss the Asterix-like divided city of Lefkosia/North Nicosia or just find a nice quite spot on one of the beaches of the Karpas Peninsula.

Cyprus is nestled into the Mediterranean, just off the coast of Turkey. Filled with cultural treasures and classical archaeology, it makes for a stimulating escape as well as a restful one. There are exquisite beaches. Drop-dead gorgeous aqua water. Stay a while at the quaint harbor town of Kyrenia and tour its almost deserted beaches. Visit the restaurants around Kyrenia harbor. Explore the capital city of Cyprus, Nicosia, surrounded by 16th century stone walls built by the Venetians. You can even make out statues of lions, which is the symbol of Venice. And get healthy on Cyprus food, the real Mediterranean diet!
