Annecy

Annecy is located in beautiful Savoy on the shores of Lake Annecy against a backdrop of the dramatic French Alps which are very close. The turquoise waters of Lake Annecy are simply stunning and with the old town at the foot of the castle mound this is a beautiful place to explore. There are many cycle and boating routes here and it is also a good base for walkers. The town has an excellent food market and some wonderful local restaurants and is a delightful town to visit, perhaps en route to the Alps.
