Bayeux

Bayeux’s perfectly preserved and world famous tapestry, along with its magnificent cathedral, makes it one of the most popular places to visit in France. The tapestry itself is in fact an embroidery and commemorates the Norman Conquest of England. Visiting this masterpiece is a must do in this small French town. Nearby the British War Cemetery is another reason for visiting this area of France where many battles have raged. The town is just a short drive from Caen and the Normandy beaches and is a very picturesque area of Northern France.
