Beziers

The capital of the Languedoc wine producing region Beziers is a beautiful old French town on the Canal du Midi making it popular with visitors on boating tours. The Old Bridge and the Cathedral are beautiful historic landmarks here and there are some wonderful views of Beziers all over town. This is a town associated with the Cathars and with the French Resistance hero Jean Moulin. It is renowned for food and wine and the ambiance of the region and is a great base for a touring holiday of the Languedoc region or for visiting the nearby beaches on the coast.
