Bordeaux

With a magnificent eighteenth century Quartier Sainte Pierre leading to the Grand Theatre Bordeaux has some elegant charm in the old part of town. There is the Pey Berland area near the harbour where pavement cafes and old buildings give the city a real character. Bordeaux is famous for its wine growing with some of the best produce coming from the region. There are vineyards where local wines can be sampled and there are even spas specialising in health treatments using wine. Don‘t leave without a taste of the local specialty and with some great local markets shopping becomes a true culinary experience.
