Le Puy En Velay

Located in the midst of the Massif Central Le Puy En Velay is one of the most intriguing towns in France. With a dramatic landscape and fascinating architecture its position between mountains and old volcanic settlements is interesting. At one time Le Puy was a pilgrimage centre and it still retains this honour. Getting here is perhaps one of the challenge as all routes in require traversing a mountain pass. Le Puy has a lovely old town and it is a wonderful base to explore the Massif Central and surrounding area.
