Poitiers

Poitiers is a historical and country town and has a heritage associated with the dukes of Aquitaine. This is a hilltop town with two rivers and the winding streets and public gardens make this a very pleasant place to explore. From the old Romanesque churches nearby to the cinema theme park Futuroscope there is something for everyone here. Poitiers has a castle, a magnificent cathedral and even a subterranean chapel to explore, and for those looking for entertainment there are plenty of good local restaurants in town and a wealth of presentations at Futuroscope.
