Most of Reims was destroyed in the Second World War but its huge Gothic cathedral is one of the most impressive in France. The cathedral is where Joan of arc succeeded in getting the French Dauphin Charles VII crowned in 1429. Most people visit Reims as it is the world capital of champagne and where all the best producers are based. A visit is not complete without at least one glass of bubbly. With great shopping, excellent local restaurants and superb local food this is a place to experience the best of France.
