Strasbourg

Strasbourg lies at one of the great crossroads of Europe and its position on the west bank of the Rhine has seen it develop through history as a major trading centre. The city centre is confined to one main island and is dominated by the beautiful spire of the pink cathedral. With delightful timber framed buildings in the old part of town Strasbourg is a beautiful city to explore. La Petite France is especially charming to spend some time. The city is also home to the Council of Europe and has a real international flavour as one of the main cities concerned with European politics.
