Troyes

Troyes is the ancient capital of Champagne and a wonderful place to visit. There are beautiful old timbered houses, a Gothic cathedral and several good museums in town. The town was famed for its textiles and some of the museums celebrate the past industry here, as well as a number of high fashion shops marking the present mode. With lots of places to eat and relax Troyes is a pleasant place to visit and enjoy a traditional and historic French town. With some good wine and champagne production in the area this is a good place to stock up on some high quality bottles of local produce.
