Dresden

Known as the Jewel of the Elbe Dresden is renowned for its art treasures. Despite being destroyed in World War Two Dresden has managed to retain or restore most of the famous historic architecture in the city making it a popular visitor destination. The Zwinger Palace, Hellerau Gardens, the Church of Our Lady and the Semper Opera House are all major architectural jewels. The city is famed for its music as well with the renowned opera house, State Opera and Kreuzchor Boys’ Choir. With 44 museums and 56 galleries there is a lot to choose from in this delightful German city.
