Ludwigshafen is a city with a past entrenched in the chemicals industry and has reinvented itself into a centre where contemporary art is celebrated. There are works of art all over the town displayed in open air and include the Endlosse Treppe or Endless Steps by Max Bill. The William Hack Museum has a ceramic wall by Miro and well over 9000 exhibits. Ludwigshafen has many green areas, the largest being Ebert Park which has beautiful themed gardens including a rose area. Ernest Bloch is the city’s famous son and a museum is dedicated to his philosophical studies in Ludwigshafen.
