Mannheim

Located on the Rhine and Neckar Rivers, Mannheim is a fascinating cultural museum, the birthplace of many inventions and home to several interesting museums. It is set out in chessboard grid style, a feature from the seventeenth century. The Reiss Engelhorn Museum is one of the best archaeological collections in the world and the Kunsthalle is renowned for its impressionist art. Lanz Bulldog Tractors were invented here as well as the first rocket powered aircraft. The city has a thriving arts scene and a great student atmosphere and even has a Pop Academy and University of Music to further musical development in the region and internationally.
