Potsdam, a city of palaces and gardens, is the legacy of the Empire of Prussia. The capital of Brandenburg and a short day trip from Berlin, Potsdam was once one of Europe’s most royal cities. The Palace of Sanssouci, the Peacock Garden, Glienicke, Babelsburg and others are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attract many visitors each year. The historical centre of Potsdam is another famous place to see some of the architectural past of this city and the baroque style streets with museums here and there make a wonderful insight into the past and the Prussian way of life.
