Ratingen

One of four capitals in the Bergisches Land Region, Ratingen is known as the green centre due to its location amongst forests and grasslands. The city is home to several international businesses and is renowned for its cultural activities including concerts and recitals. The Museum of Ratingen is famed for its doll collection and the Rheinische Industrial Museum attracts visitors to the historic milling demonstrations. Ratingen has some beautiful medieval areas with ramparts, historic buildings and an excellent market place. With good local shops, restaurants and hotels, and close proximity to Düsseldorf Airport this is an interesting place to explore.
