The ancient classical architecture of Athens will blow you away. As one of the oldest cities in the world, Athens is crowned by the Acropolis, a magnificent site to take in at either sunset or sunrise. Because it was home to the 2004 Olympics, Athens has upgraded and renewed facilities that make it more of a treat to visit. You can walk in the town center that is car-free, visit Agora and the Parthenon. Visit the food halls of the Central Market. Take a boat ride to the island of Hydra, a writers and artists colony. Car-free, you can tour it on a donkey or by walking.
