Zakynthos

A famous and popular island, Zakynthos is one of those places where you can find something for everyone; whether you fancy a late night or an early morning, you will never run out of things to do. One of the most striking islands in all of the Aegean Sea, Zakynthos is a beautiful, contrasting and lush place which has been hugely popular with tourists for many years.

The main town is where the majority of the population live but there are a number of different towns that may suit your needs depending on what you are looking for. Laganas is the party area and is probably best avoided if you are looking for a relaxing holiday, Kalamaki is suitable for families as the nightlife is a little more limited and the village of Vasillikos is wonderfully quiet and has the most authentic atmosphere of anywhere on the island. There are numerous stunning blue caves that fringe the island and can easily be visited by boat en-route to one of the many beaches in the area. Boats can easily be rented from the docks and are recommended as a wonderful way to see this striking island.
