Gubbio

Gubbio is one of the best medieval towns in Umbria with some stunning architecture and twisting streets with medieval facades to the houses. It was founded in the 3rd century and is full of history. The Palazzo del Bargello is a beautiful structure and a real feature of the town as is the Duomo dating from the 13th century. Gubbio’s Palazzo Ducale is another important building in town and the Church of San Francesco is renowned for its frescoes by Nelli. Gubbio is a real delight to explore and to sit in a small café to watch the world go by in this timeless and charming spot.
