La Thuile

With a name like La Thuile, you could be forgiven for thinking this affordable ski resort is in France. It is in the Aosta Valley in Northern Italy but it shares a border with France.

The snow is reliable during the season which lasts from late November to late April. Skiing and boarding at La Thuile is world class and there are trails to suit all ability levels. The resort will suit those learning to ski as the slopes are wide and gentle.

Intermediates have an excellent range of runs too. In particular, those seeking thrilling runs will be spoilt for choice as there are 29 black runs. The off-piste skiing at La Thuile is also excellent.

Lifts here are modern, efficient and high speed so getting to the start of the run is quick. One of the lifts is a cross border lift to La Rosiere in France.

There are numerous options for dining across a range of different cuisines.

There is no need to be bored if you choose to go to La Thuile as there are a dozen small resorts in the nearby vicinity.
