Modena

Modena to the average Italian means fast cars as this is where Ferrari and Maserati have their base. It also means opera, being the birthplace of Luciano Pavarotti. This has been a thriving community since Roman times and there are several interesting buildings around Modena from many historical periods. The Romanesque Duomo stands alongside the old Roman Via Aemilia and was designed by Lanfranco. Modena’s best museums and art galleries are housed in the Palazzo dei Musei, and for many people the Galleria Ferrari will be a very special museum to visit.
