Naples

Naples is dominated by the smoking top of Mount Vesuvius and has a very compact city centre. Most of the architectural gems of the city can be found in North East Naples with its churches and palazzos. The National Archaeological Museum is one of the best in Italy and is a feature of Naples with many excavated roman remains. Naples is a sprawling mass but retains the charm of Southern Italy. In a city where pizza was invented and Neapolitan ice cream is renowned this is a great place to explore and taste local cuisine.
