Portofino

Portofino is the most exclusive harbour and resort town in Italy. It is full of yachts belonging to wealthy people and can be reached by car or boat from Santa Margherita Ligure. Cars are not allowed in the town. This is a very picturesque town with lots of lovely and exclusive places to eat. The Abbazia di Fruttuoso is just out of town and reached on foot or by boat and is an abbey where ships were wrecked long ago and is reputed to be protected by three lions. There are many delightful places to visit along this stretch of beautiful coastline.
