Scanno

Scanno is a delightful hill town in Abruzzo and one of the most popular places to visit in the region due to its preserved state. The medieval character with narrow flights of steps and alleys adds to the delight of exploring and finding a beautiful courtyard or small church. In windows many women can be seen embroidering in this very unspoilt part of Italy. Its position near Lago di Scanno makes it a good stopping off point before entering the Abruzzo National Park or visiting the August Classical Music Festival on the lake shore.
