Siena

The main sights in Siena cluster around the narrow winding streets round the Piazza del Campo. This is one of the most famous medieval squares in Europe which sits at the heart of the city’s 17 contrade or parishes. Each year the ancient rivalries of the contrade are re enacted in the world famous Palio, a horse race run perilously around the Piazza del Campo. This is a beautiful city steeped in tradition and with many magnificent historic buildings. The Duomo, and the Palazzo Pubblico are just two of the sights to explore in Siena.
