Verona

Verona is famous for its Shakespearian lovers, Romeo and Juliet, and is the setting for this play. Visitors can see the famous balcony depicted in the play and any number of Shakespeare related souvenirs in town. Verona’s Opera Festival is one of the greatest and held each summer in the Roman Arena in the city centre. There are many other medieval buildings and bridges in this charming town, once a prominent trading centre.
