Alicante

Alicante is a lively Spanish holiday resort with a good night life and some great bars and restaurants. There is a real elegant air to Alicante with its promenade and pavement cafes. The Rambla de Mendez is just one of the wide esplanades to explore. Boats leave Alicante for Ibiza, and the beaches here are a major attraction. The Castillo se Santa Barbara overlooking the town is interesting with some excellent views and there are several museums in town. For the best beach try San Juan del Alicante or take a boat to the island of Cantera.
