Huesca

The Castillo de Loarre is the most spectacular fortress in Aragon and a major attraction in Huesca, located around 40 km outside town. Huesca is an otherwise unremarkable place to visit with a cathedral and Romanesque style church and old backstreets with local shops here and there. One of the most spectacular train rides in the region is from Huesca to Jaca which travels through Los Mallos or the pink sugarloaf shaped mountains here. The Riglos village area is a good place to break the journey and take in more views of these mountains.
