Jaca

The centre of Jaca is the best part of this city, an ancient capital of Aragon. There are ancient Roman and medieval walls and a beautiful cathedral overlooked by an imposing citadel. In winter Aragon’s best known ski resort at Astun-Candanchu is just a short drive away and the mountains are excellent for summer walking. Jaca is also on the route taken by pilgrims walking the Camino de Santiago and there is a wide variety of hotels and restaurants in town as well as a local market and each June the town celebrates with a fiesta.
