Jerez de la Frontera

Near Seville, Jerez de la Frontera is the heart and soul of sherry and also of Spanish brandy. This is a small town with a lot of brandy and sherry producers so a tour of the distilleries is very interesting, as is tasting the produce. One of the best times to visit is during the festival season in May and September when Jerez de la Frontera has a very special atmosphere. Jerez has a beautiful Moorish Alcazar and Cathedral and with a good selection of restaurants where more of the local sherry can be tasted this is an interesting part of Spain to visit.
