Soria

Soria is a town located between a ridgeback of hills on the banks of the River Duero. A ruined castle dominates the skyline and the medieval town centre has several beautiful Romanesque churches and one of the best cloisters in Spain. The ruined cloisters of San Juan de Duero have synthesised Moorish and Christian styles of architecture to create a unique structure and a major attraction in town. With some charming local restaurants offering regional specialties and a number of interesting shops the town is a good one to explore.
